The first is for the Lighthouse of the Bigbend. It's designed to be both seen and touched.
Working title: Floral Reef
Materials: late 19th century fabric, archival linen
More information on the project can be found at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=109359675752860&ref=mf
You can participate too...Calling all creative multi-media artists! Now that the Lighthouse of the Big Bend is in a new building, our spacious walls are bare. Therefore we are sponsoring a contest for accessible art that can be "seen" through touch, to be enjoyed visually AND tactually. A total of three winners and five honorable mentions will be selected by a panel composed of three blind and two sighted experts.
The second is for a special client who wishes to remain anonymous.
Working title: Grandma's Doll
Materials: vintage fabric (pictured), folk art doll, archival cotton
